Campaign launches to ‘Save Bristol Zoo Gardens’

Today sees the launch of a major fightback campaign to change the destiny of the Bristol Zoo Gardens site in Clifton. The decision to close the Zoo was taken by Trustees back in the early days of the pandemic when the prospects for many businesses and attractions seemed very uncertain. With just a little bit of hindsight this decision now seems rash and hasty and will affect forever one of the oldest Zoo sites in the world.

But it’s NOT too late. The site isn’t sold, planning permission has not been granted and independent research and conversations with insiders reveal that the business case for closing the Zoo was very flimsy and arguable.

Today, thousands of flyers have gone out to residents and businesses in the vicinity of the Zoo and email contact has been made with thousands more. This is primarily to call people to a Public Meeting this Thursday at Bristol Grammar School.

All are welcome to hear about what’s been happening at the Zoo and what’s really possible for the future. We are very pleased to welcome Alice Roberts as a guest speaker.

So, if you want to find out A LOT more, please come to a Public Meeting at BGS:

Thursday 8th December, 7.30pm

1532 Theatre, Bristol Grammar School, University Road, Bristol BS8 1SR
